I bought this BenQ DC2410 3.2 megapixel digital camera during my 2nd semester in UIA (early 2004) in PC Fair at PWTC. With Isuma, and she got herself one too (and later we also found out that Lenya also bought the same model! And Nora also got herself a BenQ digicam, but a slimmer model, which was introduced during the next PC fair.) That time the model we bought was RM490 on promotion price, brand new, which was quite affordable for us students, and as our very first digital camera, we were very very proud of them :)
As for my digicam, somehow it’s not officially mine, as Mama paid for it, so I had to share with my sisters.. until they actually have become much richer than me with their scholarship and all so got themselves a more sophisticated digicam and camera phone which I never afford to buy.
So the (now) old BenQ digicam has been all mine these couple of years though I have not been that proud anymore of using it. I have been dreaming for a new camera but I just have to wait until I have my own money. Which means until I get a job after I finish studies. But right now though I have a job I am still too poor to buy a new Sony Cybershot I have been spying on.
Anyways. Let me finish the story about the old digicam first. It’s been in very old condition lately, it used to die for a while sometime last year but got alive back on its own (which I still don’t understand why), but still could be used perfectly unless you take pictures at night. Until a few weeks ago when the display screen got broken. And I mean broken!! :-(
It must have been the metal keys inside my handbag when I put the camera together with everything in it. The camera purse has been lost somewhere so that’s why it was exposed to such damage. Haih. My bad.
BUT!!! In that worst condition it still could be used hahaha. It got so much esteem to live! I am so proud of it! It has a display lens afterall so I still could use it like the manual cameras in the good old days. Only I couldn’t change the settings and mode anymore, and I couldnt see the pictures I just took, so I have to transfer the photos into PC first before really seeing the photos.
And just now I was trying to take pictures of my birthday cards. It was all blur and not pretty as I couldn’t change the unflash/closeup mode. But here they are:

From Indirama in Finland. With Moomins phone strap :)

From Ado

I didn't know such card was available in the store (well apart of cards for friends, for lovers, for mum, for dad, for teachers, etc). I mean, the message was so.... true. Is it custom made or what. But you cant read it here cuz it's blur :P
AND!!!!! After those photos, I have come to realize that the camera is now completely broken. It’s still alive, but when I press the button it’s not working anymore. Not. Working. Anymore.
Sob, sob.. :~(
I hereby declare that my beloved camera has now officially a history. Thank you so much for having been serving for me for past 4 years. I have captured alot of memories with you. I don’t care if you’re old fashioned now after 4 years but honestly I am glad that I have owned you as part of my life. Please rest in peace, my dear camera.

Yesterday I found myself going to the state library to renew my membership. The library I had started going even before I knew how to read. It brings a lot of memories now. I had 2 memberships earlier: Children membership and Youth membership. The Children membership was registered by my mum in 1986, so I was only 3 then. I still remember my picture on my first membership card, which has been lost now, because it was replaced with another picture when I was 8. I knew how to read when I was 5, and mama said before that she had been reading books for me. Yes, Mama was a great mum when I was little :) No wonder I loved books then. So now that I am turning 25, I have to create Adult membership, because the Youth membership expires when you turn 24. I had the Youth membership some time 6 years ago when finished high school. And I stopped going to the library once I moved to KL for college, so practically I was only able to use the Youth membership only for a short time. And after I finished the renewal, they gave me back the pictures of my Children & Youth membership forms which had been kept for years in their store, one when I was 8 and another when I was 18 :D I don’t want to show them here.
