Another temporary job interview. I don’t know why I’m doing this though. Am I really desprate to work?? Or am I just addicted to applying jobs here and there without me actually have intention to do such work? Either answer might be true. Anyway I am looking for some temporary job that can pay me around RM700 or so, at least I can save it to use to find a house if I ever move to KL after a few months. Or I can buy a decent new handphone.

Alright, so I don’t mind working as a clerk or data entry assistant or whatever. I got another similar job interview call from PJ for temp/part time position which pays RM1000-RM1500, which is good enough. But here in Kelantan I expect it should be less than that.

So I went to the company with mama, I dropped her at dentist earlier. There were like, 10 girls and 2 guys waiting for the interview as well. In fact this is my first interview in a company in KB. I feel strange. I was the second candidate to enter the interview room, and I sit there neatly.

Err.. do I have to speak Kelantanese or BM?? You’ll be asking such stupid question to yourself if this is you first non-English speaking interview. Hahaha. So I began with speaking campur2.. I don’t want to sound kay ell too much LOL. But later he has gradually come to speak BM formally, so I did, too. He wanted me to tell about myself.

“Nama Ilyani.. graduate dari UIA, komputer engineering. Erm.. apa lagi?”

I know I am hopeless with a too general question like this. He was browsing through my resume and certificate copies. He said people who work as Finance exec don’t usually come from too high level of education, neither too low. He asked me if I really don’t mind doing this job with my Engineering degree and excellent results in SPM and PMR. I said not at all. Plus I’m seeing this as a temporary job only. So how much is the salary? He said, RM1400 fixed, but you can choose to have commision system of payment. I said I prefer fixed salary. I asked about the job scope. He said you have to do presentation report and meet client and have them purchasing insurance.

I said, hang on. I applied for the clerk position. Not finance exec. He was like, “Oh??”.. I explain that I don’t have finance background plus I am not interested in that field. He said, it’s fine if you don’t have the background. But I didn’t want to change my mind. He said OK, but salary for clerk is only RM500. Hmm. I am not surprised. I just have to agree with it.

After the meeting, he said they’ll call if I get the place.
